Cure social isolation with the help of technology
No Isolation is a Norwegian start-up company with a clear vison - prevent loneliness. The company was founded in October 2015, based on the idea that would bring people out of solitude, and bring them together through the help of technology.  Many children and young adults experience loneliness when they are absent from school and from their friends for long periods of time due to illness or personal issues. As a result, many of them face challenges when returning to their normal lives. For this task, the company has created a robot called AV1 in 2016 “the world’s first telepresence robot”. The robot allows children to remain socially engaged throughout their daily lives. Furthermore, it helps children to keep up with their social life and education, making it possible to be present in the classroom and stay connected with their classmates without actually being physically present. An app is used to control the AV1 allowing it to move its head and hands. Additionally, it comes with a 4G network, microphones, motors and a one-way camera to enable children to interact.

The company has also developed a product with the goal of supporting senior citizens with no technical or digital skills. The product, namely KOMP was launched in December 2017. Some groups in the society are struggling to keep up with the rapid development of new technology. In order to overcome loneliness, it is essential to keep in touch with family and friends. KOMP makes communication simple. It is a compassionate computer, requiring no complicated interaction in order to be used. Additionally, it allows you to send messages, images, video calls without downloading any apps, nor necessitating logging information. The button allows for the device to be turned on and off, as well as managing the volume of the speakers.
"KOMP is a revolutionary way of bringing pre-digital generations into our everyday life where we can communicate digitally " says Anna the CCO of the No Isolation.
Lastly, Anna remarked the potential of Education technology in the future of Norway. “I believe Norway has a potential to be on the forth front of Edu-tech in the world. Norway has a great school system, great teachers and integrates newer technologies. I also think that the future of Edu-tech in Norway is very bright, and I also think that people are good at adapting to new things. If we continue doing that, Norway will take the role as a leading actor in Edu-tech in the world. That is my opinion.”, said Anna.
