WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY OSLO
&
BOUVET
On the March 15, women in technology oslo had a pleasure to meet more than 70 enthusiastic who were interested in learning HTML and CSS. In collaboration with Bouvet, Cathrine Holm who is a web developer at Bouvet was invited as a guest speaker to encourage and inspire the attendees. At the end of the workshop, there was a competition where you could win a Movie Mask as a prize.
FREE REACT.JS WORKSHOP AT
OSLO SCIENCE PARK
In April and May, there were free react.js workshops at the Oslo Science Park. The events were hosted by Magnus Lysfjord and Simen Fossnes who are the CEO and CTO of Sci-Code. There were more than 50 developers, students who joined the workshops and they were extremely satisfied with highly interactive workshop.
REACT.JS BOOTCAMP

Two days of intense React.js bootcamps were held by Sci-Code in June and July. There were total of 16 graduates from the bootcamps. "We are happy to introduce the latest in tech to professionals interested in taking their career to the state of the art in user interface. Team Sci-Code believe that today's education system is not good enough when it comes to learning programming and coding. What are the biggest challenges teachers face today in teaching coding? Herdis Moldøen, the project leader of Lær Kidsa Koding believes that teachers need to be oriented themselves first in order to teach coding and programming to their students. Additionally, majority of teachers do not have enough materials and high quality contents to use.

The team had the pleasure of connecting with Hege Tollerud, the CEO of the Oslo EdTech Cluster and Ka Man Mak, Project coordinator, a business network established to support development and export of Norwegian education technologies. it was a great experience to know how she successfully connected the Edtech industries to each other to help education grow by leaps and bounds. Hege Tollerud was an essential part of BETT, that is the world’s leading education technology conference, home (for four days of the year) to hundreds of the most innovative education service providers and distributors. She played the role of connecting some of the most promising EdTech industries from Norway to many others who participated in Bett. The Prince of Norway opens the Norwegian classroom at BETT , coordinated by Oslo Edtech cluster, thanks to Hege.
